Dwayne served as principal for more than 17 years of his 34 year teaching and administrative career. His legacy includes building a school culture around continuous improvement, collaboration, teacher efficacy, and innovative instructional practices. He implemented the cycle of continuous improvement at a large culturally and linguistically diverse majority-minority elementary school in northern Virginia for many years. In his role as Administrator, Math Instructional Coach, ESOL Instructional Support Teacher he lead teams to identify goals and develop learning plans that supported teacher development and student achievement.
